Mary E. Kaveney Obituary
Mary E. Kaveney of Tallahassee, Fla. Mary E. Kaveney, 91, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2014 of natural causes at her home in Westminster Oaks in Tallahassee. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late James R. Werts, Jr. and Ruth Hoverter Werts. Mary was a graduate of Penn State University (BA) and Villanova University (MLS) and retired as the librarian of Phoenixville High School. She was an elder in the Prebyterian Church and most recently has been a member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee. She served many years as a docent at the Amelia Island Museum of History. Mary will be remembered fondly for the many beautiful quilts that she made for her family, charitable organizations, friends, and her church family. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Charles A. Kaveney. She is survived by daughters, Cynthia Gaulin of San Luis Obispo, Callif. and Deborah Kearney, wife of Jim of Tallahassee. She is also survived by grandchildren, Suzanne Lambert, wife of Albert of Gilroy, Calif. and Claire Gaulin, wife of John Merriam of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; as well as great-grandchildren, Sylvia Lambert, Rene Lambert, Tobin Merriam, and Piper Merriam. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 28th, at Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring. Interment will follow at Charles Evans Cemetery.
