James R. "Jim" Dutton, 80, died Friday, August 22, 2003 at Glendale, Arizona.He was born March 1, 1923, at Claremore, Oklahoma, the son of Robert R. and Bonnie M. Benbrook Dutton. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1940. A Hutchinson, Kansas resident since 1933, formerly of Claremore, Oklahoma, he was a retired vice president and general manager of the Bunge Corporation, working there from 1948 to 1983. He was in charge of the company's Kansas and Colorado grain divisions.He belonged to the First Presbyterian Church in Hutchinson. He was a member and past president of the Hutchison Board of Trade, a member of the Kansas City Board of Trade, and was a former member of the American Legion and Prairie Dunes Country Club.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, water skiing, occasional recreational flying and the star-filled nights over the Kansas skies.He joined the Naval Air Corps in 1942 and flew DC-4 hospital evacuation planes from Guam to the United States. He was a Lieutenant J.G. and stationed in Guam.On April 19, 1946,, he married Dottie Fleming. She survives him. In 1992 he moved to Sun City, Arizona.Other survivors include: two sons: Ron and his wife, Dawn of Overland Park, Kansas; and Mike and his wife, Linda, of Olathe, Kansas; a daughter: Nancy Phleger of Peoria, Arizona; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
