Jane DeCamp Obituary

Jane M. DeCamp, 95, died June 12, 2012 in Sun City, Arizona. She was born October 27, 1916 in Wauseon, Ohio to Cecil and Harry Merrill.
Jane graduated from Wauseon Ohio High School and from Toledo Hospital School of Nursing. In 1941 she joined the United States Army Nurse Corp and served five years during World War II. She served in Australia, New Guinea, the Dutch East Indies, and the Philippines. She was awarded the Bronze Star and the World War Victory Medical. She held the rank of Captain when she was discharged in 1946.
After military service Jane married John. H. DeCamp in 1948 and became a homemaker. John's work for Caterpillar Corporation took them many places. They lived in Peoria, Illinois, Joliet and Aurora, then three years in Belgium and three months in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Jane and John moved to Sun City in 1983. They were members of the Sun City Country Club, the Lake's Club, and Palmbrook Country Club. She was also a member of the Computer Club, World War II Nurses' organization and of the Congregational Church of Sun City, Arizona.
Jane was predeceased by her husband, John in 2003 after fifty-five years of marriage. She was greatly admired and will be missed by her friends.
There will be a memorial service for Jane on Monday, July 9th, at 9:00 A.M. at the National Cemetery on Cave Creek Road.
