Chester F. Lenik was born in Detroit, Michigan September 28, 1921. Mr. Lenik died April 4, 2014 in Sun City, AZ.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Phyllis; son, Chester F. Lenik Jr. of Wapiti, WY; daughter, Pam (Kevin) Smith of Cody, WY; three granddaughters: Megan (Josh) Hegg, Manda (Fred) Siebert, Missy (Trevor) Kirkwood; grandson, Cullen Smith; four great-grandchildren; and two nephews, Frank and Richard Lenik.
A veteran, he was commissioned 2nd Lt. a navigator on a B-24 Liberator in the Army Air Force in World War II. He graduated from the University of Detroit College of Engineering, with the degree of Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering. He pursued a master's degree in marketing at the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, Sales and Marketing Executives, Toastmasters, Elks, a Mason and sang in a barbershop chorus. Mr. Lenik spent most of his career with divisions of Sperry Rand Corporation, first with Vickers, Inc. engineer, moved to Minneapolis, MN with Vickers, Inc. as application engineer, transferred to Tulsa, OK as District Manager, Vickers Mobile Hydraulics Division in charge of sales and service of mobile division products. In 1962 he was appointed Marketing Manager for the Tulsa Products Division of Vickers Inc., Sperry Rand Corporation and in that position he is listed in Who's Who in American Industry.
A letter swimmer in both high school and college, a golfer, church choir member of Lakeview United Methodist Church in Sun City, AZ.
Father and mother, Frank and Magdalena Lenik, two brothers Stanley and Barney Lenik, and niece Gail Kuffer preceded him in death.
Services will be at Lakeview United Methodist Church at 10:30 A.M. Monday, April 14, 2014. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Lakeview United Methodist Church 10298 West Thunderbird Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351.
