James Henry Cooper, 79, of Sun City West, passed away March 6, 2014. He was born to the late Florence and Joseph Cooper, May 29, 1934 in Cornwall, New York.
Jim graduated from Newburgh Free Academy class of 1952 and received a BS in Police Administration from Michigan State University in 1964. Jim worked as a U.S. Postal Inspector, retiring in 1984. Following retirement he was a Private Investigator for 15 years, in San Diego and Arizona. In addition he was a Special Agent with U.S. Intelligence for 7 years, served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and served as Lieutenant Commander in the Naval Reserves for 20 years.
Jim loved to travel, play golf, read, sail, and was an animated story teller.
Jim is survived by his wife, Janice Lee Cooper whom he married in 1960; his son, Michael James Cooper; daughter, Leanne Michelle Hill; 2 grandsons, Steve and Tony Cooper. He is also survived by a sister, Mary and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Jan and Pat.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M., March 19, 2014 at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel, 13738 Camino del Sol, Sun City West. Memorial contributions may be made to or .
