Betty Jeanne Hegelheimer, 91, passed away on July 13, 2014, at Compassion Senior Care in Roseville, California.
The Guest Book is expired.
Betty was born in 1922 in Holly, Colorado, to Gertrude (nee Beitel) and Ancil B. King, and raised in Holly with her older brother and sister, A. Leroy "Son" and Edith Lucille. Betty became a young war bride when marrying Paul in 1943 and they had their first child, Paul King, one year later. After the war and Paul's Army service ended in 1946, they moved to Redwood City, California, and raised four children. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, sister and friend, Betty enjoyed working at Ampex and Hewlett-Packard for over 25 years. Then, when retiring in 1979, Betty and Paul moved to Sun City, Arizona. They became avid golfers, playing several times a week until their early eighties. Betty even shot two Hole-in-Ones at the age of 75 at the North and Lakes East golf courses which made the local paper. When they weren't busy gardening and golfing with friends, they loved traveling the western U.S., Canada, and visiting family and friends in CA and CO.
Betty is survived by son, Donald Hegelheimer; daughters Lea Ann McHale and Rebecca Whitmer; daughter-in-law, Patty Hegelheimer; granddaughters Amanda Hegelheimer and Corinne Whitmer; and great grandchildren Austin, Paige, Kaylea and Molly. She was preceded in death by her eldest child, Paul King, and her husband, Paul, in May and December of 2001. At the time of Paul's passing, they had been married for 58 years. Betty's brother and sister, A. Leroy King and Edith Morrison of Grand Junction also preceded her in death.
Deceased's funeral arrangements: Betty will join her loving Paul at rest at Sunland Memorial Park's "Haven of Serenity" in Sun City, Arizona.
