Delwin Emanuel Johnson, a resident of Sun City, AZ, passed peacefully onward to our heavenly Father on Sept. 19, 2012 at the age of 92 after several months of
and group home care. Del was born in Oakland, Nebraska on Sept. 4, 1920. "Pete", as he was also known, was a Navy Dive Bomber pilot during World War II. Before leaving for duty in CA, he married Margaret L. Boelter on Dec. 22, 1942. After discharge he returned to Nebraska and opened a general store. Eventually he moved the family to Fremont, NE and began working for Fremont National Bank in 1952. He retired from the bank as a Vice President in 1982. While in Fremont, he was active in numerous community events and organizations. Upon his retirement, Pete and Margaret moved to Glendale, AZ in 1983. After Margaret passed on Dec. 17, 1989 from cancer, Del moved to Sun City, AZ in 1991. He was a part time realtor and also worked part time in the Pro Shop at several Sun City golf courses. Del loved family whether visiting his brothers and sister in NE or being near his grandkids and great grandkids. He was an avid golfer and Nebraska football fan. He always had a good sense of humor along with a kind heart and welcoming spirit.

Memorial services will be held Feb. 4, 2013 beginning with a 10:30am mass at St. Clements of Rome Catholic Church at 15800 Del Webb Blvd Sun City, AZ followed by a Celebration of Life at Regency Mortuary, 9850 W. Thunderbird Rd., Sun City. Del will be buried with his wife Margaret at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ with a 2pm military honors ceremony.
