Lois Denise Wanamaker, born to Margaret (Buck) and Clem Clark on Jan. 8, 1942 in Pocatello Idaho, passed away peacefully October 25th, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. In 1962, Lois moved to Hawthorne, California. She received a BA and MA degrees from California State University at Long Beach. She was employed at Northrop Corporation for 28 years, holding positions as Cost Estimator, Senior Pricing Analyst, and Estimating Specialist. She was Project Engineer and Lead person for her department when she elected early retirement in 1994. While working at Northrop, she met Merle M. Coons, Colonel USAF (Retired) whom she married. They lived in Fountain Valley, California from 1972 to 1994, when they moved to Pocatello Idaho. Colonel Coons died in 1997.
Lois moved to Surprise, Arizona in 2000. There she became reacquainted with a former Northrop coworker, Paul Wanamaker, and in him found a loving soul mate, protector and best friend. They were married in 2002 and made their home in Sun City West, Arizona.
She is survived by her husband Paul Wanamaker, sister Lorraine Mitton, brothers, Richard (Barb) Clark, Neil Clark, Keith (Cora) Clark, and stepdaughter Amanda (Brian) Lear. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. A Memorial service will be held at the Sun City Elks Lodge at 10760 W. Union Hills Dr. on Nov. 8th at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the .
