Sun City West, AZ - Marian Patricia Winstead Bagot, 84 years young, passed on Tuesday evening, April 3rd, peacefully, in her home in SCW, where she had lived for over 6 years. While she had been battling serious cancer for over 7 months, her deepest desire and prayer was to be able to transition in her own home, in her own bed, with loved ones at her side. Her youngest son, sat with her, and held her hand for days, during her last hours, and loved her, while she calmly, and quietly, and in the end, very peacefully, made her departure. The individuals that work for
gave them both immense love, kindness, priceless support, and medical assistance, in the days preceding Marian's passing.
The Guest Book is expired.
Marian was born on August 24, 1927, in Durham, N.C., to Pattie and Charles Henry Winstead, and she was the youngest of eleven children.
A woman of the world, traveling and living internationally, with her four children and her husband, pilot, Lt. Col. Walter McRae Bagot (USAF), Marian worked often as a volunteer in military hospitals, while a young wife. She later joined the professional work force, in civic government and school administration, in Madison, WI; and enjoyed a successful career, as a highly fashionable real estate broker, selling "million-dollar homes" in So. CA.
Marian and Rae were graced with wonderful life experiences such as being received as official guests at the Hyannis Port Kennedy family compound, and being met and greeted by President John, and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. Marian was, and remained, a life-long, proud, devoted, Democrat.
Marian retired to Sun City West, in 1992, with her adoring and devoted husband, "Rae", of 55 years, where they made wonderful life long friends, and became important members of a loving community, here.
The last of her original Winstead family, Marian was a strong, determined, intelligent, well read, articulate, and clever soul, while also simultaneously being quite tender hearted and fun-loving. She was a queen of compassion, and the epitome of caring; and was a 100% committed Mom, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Wife, Sister, and Friend. She is, and will be, missed by her forever-grateful-to-have had-her-as-their-mom, children: her eldest daughter Lynda Rae Bagot-Parker, son, Walter Winstead Bagot, and wife, Tanya Everett Bagot, daughter Pamela Sue Bagot- Watson, and husband Jac, youngest son, Timothy Charles "Rae" Bagot, daughter-in-law, Shereye Everett, and loving partner, Ellie Morrow, grandchildren: Anthony Angelo Parker, Daniel McRae Peterson, Melissa Everett-Stein, and husband Todd, and great-grandchildren: Anthony Walter Parker, Bella Stein, and Max Stein, and many, many loving friends.
A memorial service will be held for a truly special woman, beloved Marian Bagot, at Regency Mortuary, 9850 W. Thunderbird Rd., in Sun City (corner of 99th and Thunderbird), on Friday, April 27th at 11:00 A.M., AND a U.S. Air Force honor guard ceremony will be conducted for Lt. Col.
