Lois Mary Miner Scroggs passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday morning, December 14, 2013, at the age of eighty-nine.

She was a resident of Royal Oaks Lifecare Center in Sun City. She was born on July 20,1924, in Hammond, Indiana.
She had an older brother, Jack Miner of Rio Verde, who preceded her in death. They were the children of Harold and Stella Miner of Munster, Indiana.
Lois is survived by her three children, Carol Fitzpatrick of Chandler; Kent Scroggs of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and Claudia Scroggs of Aurora, Colorado; as well as five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
After attending Indiana University, she went to work as an executive secretary at United Airlines in Denver, where she met Roy Scroggs, who worked for United as a pilot for thirty-three years. Roy and Lois were married on December 28, 1949. Roy died on April 17, 2011, in Sun City. They had been married for sixty-one years.
Lois was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was well-known for her humor and intelligence; her warm, generous nature; and her friendly, outgoing personality. Her favorite activities included spending time with her family, traveling with her husband, helping other people, and playing Bingo with her friends at Royal Oaks.
The family will be holding a private memorial service and celebration of Lois' life at Royal Oaks in the near future. Gifts in Lois' honor may be sent to: Restoration Outreach Programs, P.O. Box 632, Aurora, CO 80040.
