Sarah Lamphere, 94, of Snellville GA, passed away on June 14, 2013. Sarah was the beloved Mother of a daughter and son as well as the beloved Grandmother to 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. She is survived by her only daughter, Gail Ann Stanley of Snellville GA, and is preceded in death by her parents, son and siblings. Born in Albuquerque, NM in January 1919, she was the daughter of Emory and Bertha (Wages) Hosch, originally of Carbon Hill, AL and Dacula, GA, respectively, and one of three children including her older brother, William, and younger sister, Eunice Mae. As an infant, Sarahs family moved to Birmingham, AL where she graduated from Ensley High School and married her first husband James Bennett in 1938, father of daughter Gail (1939-). In 1946 Sarah married Robert Lamphere, father of son George (1949-1983). In the mid-1960s, the Lampheres relocated to Dedham, MA outside of Boston where Sarah was active in the Emanuel Episcopal Church and lived until relocating to Snellville, GA in 2005 to live with her daughter Gail and son-in-law Louie Stanley. Her grandchildren will always fondly remember her as Choo Choo and her packages that would arrive every Christmas time from the mysterious northeast, and, as they matured, engaging in intriguing conversations spirited by Sarahs quick wit, which fortunately never left. Sarah will always be in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers. Condolences may be viewed or sent to www.wagesfuneralhome.com. Tom M. Wages Funeral Service, LLC, A Family Company Snellville Chapel 770-979-3200, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
