Shen-Shin Lu Obituary

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Chinese Bible Church of Greater Boston (CBCGB) in Lexington for Dr. Shen-Shin Lu of Waltham. Dr. Lu died at home on May 19th, 2011, after a yearlong valiant battle with cancer. He was 55. Dr. Lu was born in Taichung, Taiwan on October 3, 1955. He graduated from Central Military Academy in Taiwan and served as an officer. He retired as a captain after serving four years and moved to Japan, where he obtained his Bachelors of Law (LL.B) from Meijo University in Nagoya graduating 9th in a class of 790. He was first in his class when he received his Master of Law (LL.M) degree from Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo. In 1989 he immigrated to the States with his family to pursue his studies at Harvard Law School. While at Harvard, he obtained his second LL.M degree in 1991 and furthered his studies to obtain his Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) in 1994. Dr. Lu practiced business and immigration law in Boston for the past 15 years and he was also a visiting professor at several Japanese law schools. Dr. Lu is survived by his wife and four children.
