Dear Nancy and Family - We each owe a death. From Lee's military experiences, he certainly knew of the sorrow that families experience when one so loved dies. Lee knew you would grieve. He knew he was leaving you and at that very moment of passing, his thoughts were of you and the life he shared with those loved so very much.
He lived fully and had so many, many, joys...satisfactions in working towards a goal. Perhaps, the most joyous being private for that is how it is for a leader; and then spoken of almost as in a passing moment while on to the next event. For a military man, a warrior, it is his abilities to care for those under his command and his family that are the greatest achievements.
Certainly, his final thoughts, wishes, and prayers were for you just as yours are of him now. It is the love we grow into from having shared our lives during those moments of great challenge, great events, and great accomplishments. The values, the ethics, the morals that we carry throughout our lives are observed usually by only a few that have rare opportunities to know us for so long. Lee was my neighbor. He was a brother-in-arms. He lived fully...always participating in life...looking at life from a disciplined perspective shared by so few. I have sympathy in your loss. A husband, a father, a leader, a friend....a man appreciated by so many for his integrity and bearing. Lee will be missed so very much because he was a man appreciated and loved so very much. I won't forget the Colonel. Al

We both have fond memories of, and great respect for, Lee and Nancy during our association at the Chapel of the Centurion. Lee, obviously a life-long supporter for the soldier warriors. It was an honor to have him as an usher for our son's memorial service.
Love and prayers at a difficult time.

I was very sorry to hear of Lee's death. He and Nancy were such good friends to my parents and me. He helped me out when I bought my house. When I lost my first teaching job Nancy and Lee took me out for lunch and gave me a pep talk and some pointers on filling out applications. The funniest was when Lee helped my dad with the lawn mower. He went into so much detail about what was wrong with the mower which made my dad more confused. Can you imagine heaven with Lee and Al?

My family and I have lost a great friend.

I have known Lee and his family for nearly twenty years. Lee was a fine Christian role model - husband, father, friend. He humbly served in whatever capacity he was asked to serve. "Well done, good and faithful servant!"
