Barbara Harding

HAMPTON - Barbara Harding, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2013. She joins the late Wilfred Harding, Jr., her husband of 56 years, to await the call of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, together. This woman of God was born in Jacksonville, IL to the late Edward Blue, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Blue. She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Brown (Rev. Abe Brown) and grandson, Gregory E. Headen, III. She leaves behind her son, Darryl E. Harding (Sarah); daughter Scarlet R. Wallace (Keith); brother Edward Blue, Jr. (AnneBell) of Jacksonville, IL; grandsons Terrance T. Harding and Keith Wallace, Jr.; a great-grandson, Terrance T. Harding, Jr.; she also leaves a special nephew, Richard A. Blue (Angela), all of Hampton, VA. The family would like to thank all the members of Antioch Baptist Church in Hampton, VA for all your love, prayers and support. A special thanks to Rev. Willie B. Patterson and Lilly Dickens, her sisters in Christ, who prayed with our mother nightly; the staff of Surgical Oncology Associates for their outstanding care. To know Barbara was to love her. She will be missed but not forgotten. A service in her honor will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, at Antioch Baptist Church, 1563 Old Buckroe Road, Hampton. Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will assemble by 10 a.m. on Thursday at 1911 McCulloch Road, Hampton.
