WILLIAMSBURG - On Tuesday morning, Nov. 6, 2012, our beloved Byron T. "Oohleowe" Dillard slipped into the arms of his Savior in Riverside Hospital and went home to live with the Lord. His life began on Dec. 13, 1962, the son of Shirley Bailey Dillard and Douglas Marshall Dillard.
In his youth, he accepted the Lord as his Savior was baptized and joined Oak Grove Baptist Church where he faithfully attended Sunday school and church services. He graduated from Bruton High School. He was formerly employed by The George Washington Inn, Embassy Suites and Colonial Williamsburg.
He leaves to cherish his blessed memories, his mother, Shirley Dillard and his father, Douglas M. Dillard (Leslie); his sister, Constanza Dillard; his brothers, Larry and Kevin Dillard, who had his back at all times; his special niece, Stephanie Dillard; his special nephews, Brandon and Bradley Dillard; his uncle, Raymond Bailey (Mary), of Philadelphia, Pa.; his great-uncle, Deacon Robert Hall; his special cousin, Steven Washington; other loving relatives and many caring friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, in Whiting's Chapel with the Rev. Steven Keller officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, on Rochambeau Drive. Family and friends will assemble at 134 Weaver Rd by noon Tuesday. Mr. Dillard may be viewed in the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
