Gary Edward Webb

WILLIAMSBURG - Gary Edward Webb, of Williamsburg, VA, beloved husband, father, son, brother and uncle passed away on April 2, 2014. He was born on May 9, 1956 in Wilson, N.C. Gary graduated from Fike High School in Wilson and began a distinguished career in military and government service. Family was most important to Gary. He especially loved spending time with his family, at home and on many wonderful trips. From his boyhood, Gary loved nature. He enjoyed his life as an avid outdoorsman. He particularly enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed wonderful times shared with his family and friends in his wooded backyard. Gary proudly served his country in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant, as a Chaparral Systems Mechanic. Following his military service, Gary had a long and distinguished career as an Electronic Technician with The Aviation Applied Technology Directorate, at Fort Eustis, VA, where he continued to serve our nation on many Army Aviation Research and Development Programs. Gary is survived by his loving wife of thirty-six years, Mara; daughter, Melissa and son, Benjamin. Gary is also survived by his dear mother and father, Jerrie and "Dick" Webb, sister, Jacqueline Wright, sister-in-laws, Ursula Debus, Monika Runge and Karin Schocker, many nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and his beloved dog Chester. Gary is loved and will be missed by all who encountered and knew him. He touched so many lives in a positive way. He had a great sense of humor and could make anyone smile. He was a loving husband, great dad, son, brother and friend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4639, PO Box 1236, Williamsburg VA 23187. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, April 28th at 11:00 am at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.
