Guy R. Hewlett

WILLIAMSBURG - Guy R. Hewlett transitioned to his Heavenly home on Thursday, May 1, 2014, in Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. His life began on September 26, 1955, the son of the late Annie D. and Garfield Hewlett, of Quinton, Virginia. He was a member of Union Baptist Church. He was a graduate of New Kent High School. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Navy; proudly serving his country for eight years. Guy was a self-employed contractor. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. He leaves to treasure his blessed memories, his wife, Carrie Hewlett; his son, Jason Hewlett; his brothers, James Brown, of Quinton, and Earl Hewlett (Joyce), of Philadelphia, PA; his sisters, Annie Mayo and Edna Miller (Floyd), both of Richmond and Gladys DePriest, of Hampton; six other sisters-in-law; one other brother-in-law; a devoted friend, Alvin Bolden; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends. A funeral service, celebrating the life he lived, will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014, in Quinton Baptist Church, 8468 Quaker Road, with the Rev. Rodney F. Christian officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Hewlett may be viewed only in the church on Thursday, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the hour of his service.
