NEWPORT NEWS - Horace H. Arrington Sr. died on Jan. 12, 2011, at home after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Arrington was a retired business owner.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Mae Arrington; his father, Lemon Finch; his brothers, James "Nookie" Williams, Leroy Arrington, and Walter "Milton" Arrington.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary R. Arrington; sons, Horace Jr. (Linda), Jerome, and Anthony; daughters, Yvette, Sherry, Katherine, and Tracey (Dwayne), one brother, Kevin Allford (Mozell), 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Virginia Oncology and Heartland Hospice, for the excellent care that was given to our loved one.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
