HAMPTON - Irene M. Alexander went home to be with our heavenly father on Feb. 8, 2012, at The Gardens at Warwick Forest.
Irene was born on Sept. 22, 1919, in Orange, N.J. She was the daughter of Olen and Lela Hayes and was the last of seven children. Irene was a member of Union Baptist Church in Orange, N.J., and attended faithfully.
Irene retired from Heywood Avenue School after 29 years of service as a Teachers Aide.
Irene married Royal C. Alexander Jr., and to this union was born Charles Royal Alexander (Dolores), of Wilton, Conn., Richard Hayes Alexander (Carolyn) and Eileen M. Alexander, both of Hampton. She also leaves eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at O. H. Smith and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at Union Baptist Church, Orange, N.J. Mrs. Alexander will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday in Orange, N.J.
