WILLIAMSBURG - Dr. James William Kintigh passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012.
He was born in Goshen, Ind. It was apparent from an early age that he possessed a strong desire to help others, and he became an enthusiastic Eagle Scout. He was a graduate of Goshen College and the Indiana University
School of Medicine. Dr. Kintigh served as Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy
. After completing his tour of duty, he continued his service to others and worked diligently as a family practice physician, in Newport News, for over 30 years. He was a caring and devoted husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was also an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; their daughters, Melanie New and her husband, James of Washington, D.C., Amber Corey and her husband, Greg of Atlanta, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Henry, Charlie, Miles and Amelia New, and Vivian Corey.
Arrangements will be private.
