Lillian Topping Pelesz

POQQUOSON - Poquoson- Lillian Topping Pelesz, 98, a lifelong resident of Poquoson, passed away on February 2, 2014. She was a member of Tabernacle Side-door Service. She worked at NASA as a mail carrier retiring after 10 years of service. She loved to travel, cook, and swim. An avid bowler, she joined many bowling leagues and also was a member of the Officers Wives Club in Japan. Her family was her life. She leaves behind her loving dog Precious. She enjoyed feeding the homeless with the LAMB House. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. Willard W. Pelesz, USAF Retired. She is survived by daughters; Rose M. Valenti and her husband Frankie of Cohoes, New York and Carolyn (Jo) Leeson and her husband Jack of Poquoson, VA; grandchildren, Sherri L. Firman and her husband Terry , Kimberly D. Major and her husband David, Frank Valenti, Jr. and his wife Robin, Tina Arnold and her husband Jerry, Michael Valenti and his wife Beth, Greg Valenti, and Nick Valenti and his wife Lisa; Great-grandchildren, Michael, Corrie, Angela, Gina, Nicholas, Rick, Danielle, Eric, Christina, Jenna, Nicole, Marissa, Tiffany, and Andrea, numerous nieces and nephews; and 14 Great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 7:00PM-9:00PM at Tabernacle United Methodist Church of Poquoson. A Memorial service will be held Thursday, February 6, 2014, 11:00AM at Tabernacle United Methodist Church by The Rev. Barry Throckmorton. Burial will be held at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
