GLOUCESTER - Linwood Earl Harris, Sr., 81, passed away July 31, 2013 with his family and friends by his side at Riverside Regional Medical Center. He attended Achilles Friends Church for 15 years. Linwood served his country in the U S Army from 1953 to 1955 and he retired after 36 years from Newport News Shipyard. Linwood is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Ruth Harris; three children, Deborah Foster, Becky Wilson and Linwood Harris, Jr.; sister, Agnes Manos; brother, Clifton Scott Harris, Jr.; 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. A graveside funeral service officiated by Reverend John Downs will be held 1 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2013 at Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 4 until 5:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
