LITTLE RIVER, S.C. - Milton S. Williams passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, after a lengthy illness.
Milton was born on May 21, 1930, in Richmond, Va. He had retired to Little River, S.C., after 39 years in the electrical department at Newport News Shipbuilding as superintendent. Mr. Williams had many hobbies that included golfing, fishing, traveling and reading. He loved to talk and was the host of many Newport News Shipbuilding retiree dinners. He was a member of the Elks Lodge
, American Legion & the Progressive Club while living in Newport News, Va.
Mr. Williams was predeceased by his father, Storman M. Williams and his mother, Thenie Dove Williams. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Thurman Williams and Everett Eugene Williams.
He leaves to cherish fond memories his loving wife and best friend of 57 years, Geraldine; four daughters, Patti Taylor and her husband George, of Suffolk, Va., Debra Ingram and her husband Charlie, of Fairfield Bay, Ark., Brenda Garrigus and her husband Bob, of Fairfield Bay, Ark., Barbara Huffman and her husband Rusty, of Hampton, Va. He leaves six grandchildren, Michael, Jonathan, Chad, Rodney, Ashley and Felicia and five great-grandchildren. Also, his sister, Mickie Sprinkle and her husband Vance, of Pffaftown, N.C., and sister-in-law, Mildred Williams, of Oak Island, N.C. Special thanks to David Mitchell for his friendship and comforting in his last few months.
A graveside service will be private.
