Sherri Cowan Bookman

HAMPTON - Sherri Lynn Bookman went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 14, 2013. An active member of Providence Free Will Baptist Church, Sherri graduated Kecoughtan High School in 1982, and was employed by Sulzer Pumps of Brookshire, TX. After living in two countries and several states, Sherri moved back to Hampton in 1994 to be close to her parents. Sherri enjoyed traveling, camping, music, bowling, working in the yard, and watching and supporting her husband and friends drag race. Sherri's walk over these last four years was one of love and encouragement. She was no stranger to social networks which she used to bring peace to others who were suffering life's battles. Sherri is survived by her husband of 15 years, Ronald C. Bookman; his mother Nancy; Sherri's father Paul and mother, Midge; brothers, Paul and Brett (Trish). In-laws, Donald Bookman (Caroline); Vonda Bookman (Daniel O'Keefe). Nephews and Nieces David, Chris and Matthew Cowan, Jennifer Leroux, Kimmie and Matthew Bookman. Visitation will be Sunday, February 24th, 1:30-3:30pm at Providence Free Will Baptist Church, 731 E. Little Back River Rd, Hampton, VA 23669. Services will be officiated by Pastor Richard Barnes beginning at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, Sherri's wish is a donation to either the or SPCA in her memory.
