Thomas G. HUGHES

WILLIAMSBURG - Thomas Greenfield Hughes, 93, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012.
He was born in Columbia, Tenn., and attended both Columbia Military Academy and Vanderbilt University, where he played football. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, he was employed by the General Foods Corporation for 43 years. He was also a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 73 years, Dudley M. Hughes; his brother, Jerry Hughes; his son, Thomas G. Hughes Jr.; his daughter, Carol H. Duff; his son, Patrick L. Hughes; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the Woodhaven Assisted Living Parlor, in Woodhaven Manor, 5500 Williamsburg Landing Drive, Williamsburg.
