HAMPTON - On Tuesday morning Oct. 23, 2012, God dispatched a set of angels for Wesley 'Skip' Johnson Jr.
Skip was a native of Philadelphia, Pa., born March 1, 1957, to Wesley Sr. and Sadie Johnson of Philadelphia, Pa. He was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System, and later served in the United States Air Force
, where he obtained the rank of sergeant. Skip was a faithful employee of AAFES for 19 years until his illness prevented him from working.
Left to cherish their memories of Skip are his wife, Carolyn Johnson; two sons, Wesley III and Michael Johnson; one daughter, Niesha Johnson, all of Hampton, Va.; his parents, Wesley Sr. and Sadie Johnson of Philadelphia, Pa.; and a sister, Corvette Johnson of Philadelphia, Pa.; and a host of relatives and friends.
Services for Skip will be held Tuesday, Oct. 30, noon at Canaan Baptist Church, 1100 West Queen Street, Hampton, Va., by Bishop Samuel L. Cutler. Interment with military honors, will be at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Va. Mr. Johnson, will lie in state at Canaan Baptist two hours prior to service.
Viewing for Mr. Johnson will be held on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, from noon to 6 p.m. at C. C. Carter Funeral Home, 3314 Roanoke Ave., Newport News, Va.
