James TEAGUE Obituary

POQUOSON - James A. Teague, 89, a native of Penniman, and resident of Poquoson for 68 years, passed away with family by his side on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Men's Bible Class, United Methodist Men, and served in numerous areas in the life of the church. James was a member and a Past Master of Poquoson Masonic Lodge #49 A. F. & A. M. and served as Chaplain for several years. He also was the Past District Deputy to the Grand Master of Masonic District #14A.
James retired from the Naval Weapons Station after 33 years of service as a Maintenance Scheduler and later retired after 11 years of service as a maintenance employee from Poquoson School System. He would always quote that being employed for Poquoson Schools was "the best years of his life".
James was preceded in death by his parents, Orna and James Teague Sr.; three brothers, Kenith Teague, Dewey Teague and John Teague; and two sisters, Margaret Bryant and Ruth Lawrence.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Edna B. Teague; a daughter, Jane T. Lender and husband, Erbin; grandchildren, Jamey Lender and wife, Caryn, and Laurie Norton and husband, Doug; great-grandchildren, Lance Lender and wife, Lindsey, Torie Lender, Seth Norton, and Zachary Norton; sister, Hazel Sawyer; sisters-in-law, Edna Teague, Verlyn Watkins, and Nell Pauls; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to noon Friday, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, immediately followed by a funeral service at noon, in the funeral home chapel by the Rev. Rita A. Callis from Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton. And at other times the family will be at his home.

Ms. Edna, Ms. Jane and Mr. Erbin....I am so very sorry about Mr. James....he was such a kind and sweet man...I sure miss seeing him at church....we all know that he is resting in the arms of Jesus now....you are all in my heart, thoughts and prayers...much love to all of you!!
