Jimmie Calbert Miller

HAMPTON - Jimmie C. Miller, 85, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013. He was a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, was raised in Georgetown, Louisiana and was a resident of Hampton for 50 plus years. Mr. Miller was a 1951 graduate of Louisiana Tech and retired from NASA Langley after 37 years of faithful employment. A Veteran of the US Army, Jimmie served during the Korean War. He was a member of Hampton Baptist Church and also a previous member of Sportsman Hunt Club in New Kent. Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Betty Miller; infant son, James C. Miller as well as his parents. He is survived by sons, Mark Miller (Anita) of Herndon, VA, and Ted Miller (Deborah) of Providence Forge, VA; several cousins and extended family members. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Jimmie's life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 9, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
