Juanita HARTMANN Obituary

HAMPTON - Juanita Joyce Hartmann, my wife, my sweetheart and best friend, passed away suddenly, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with her illness. She believed in Christ and was reunited in heaven with our precious son, Mark; her mother, Joyce; two brothers, Bob and David; and her sister, Katy.
She is survived by her husband, Gunter; her son, Terry and his wife, Melinda; sister, Priscilla; brother Danny; and grandson, Zachery.
Juanita's all time favorite job was Director of Tourism for the Williamsburg Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. It was there that she excelled and was fortunate to make lifelong friends, whose friendship has endured.
Our family extends thanks to Bruce, Phil, Rosemary Linda Jeffries, Nancy, as well as many others.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec.29, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Juanita's life will follow beginning at 2 p.m. Inurnment will be private.
Friends are encouraged to visit www.parklawn-woodfh.com to share memories and words of condolence with the family.
Arrangements are under the care of Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., in Hampton, 23666. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

I just got your card and was sad to hear she had passed away. The one ray of hope I had was the fact that she is now reunited with Mark. I know how much she must have missed him. My thoughts are with you.

I offer my sincere condolences at this difficult time. I came to know Juanita through her work in Williamsburg tourism some years ago. She was a hard worker but, no matter the situation, she could have a good time and a laugh, and bring a smile to those around her. She will be greatly missed. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I am thinking of you during this difficult time, Gunter, and praying for you and the rest of the family. I just flew in from the midwest and won't be able to make the drive tomorrow for the service. I am saddened that I will miss saying goodbye to Aunt Juanita in person. You both have always been so kind and generous to me and I have always looked up to you. May your memories of your long life together offer you peace during this time. I'll be thinking of you. Much love.

Dear Gunter and family........please accept my sincere condolences and prayers at this time. I traveled with Juanita quite a bit and had some good times. I'll always remember how well you packaged up the brochures for her to carry. I will be visiting my youngest son and his family and will not be able to attend the service. I'm so sorry for your loss. God Bless, Kay Fries
