Alice HODGDON Obituary
She was born Alice Charlotte Boyd in Kokomo, Ind., on Dec. 13, 1917, to Lowell Thaddeus and Lela Todd Boyd. She was a graduate of Indiana University and the Tobe-Coburn School of Fashion in New York City. In 1942, she married Carl Roydon Hodgdon Jr. They lived for many years in Northern Virginia, where they were longtime members of Lewinsville Presbyterian Church. She was a dedicated advisor to Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority chapter at G.W. University and the College of William and Mary. In 1976, she and her husband retired to the Kingsmill community in Williamsburg, Va., where they were active members of the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, the German Club, and Kingsmill Golf and Tennis.
She is survived by her sons, Todd (Pat) Hodgdon of Haymarket, Va., Thad (Sonia) Hodgdon of Medford, Ore., and Matt (Teresa) Hodgdon of Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her parents; and her brother, Robert Boyd of Indiana.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Lewinsville Presbyterian Church in McLean, Va.

Alice was an early president of our Williamsburg Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association and of the Kingsmill Ladies Golf Assn. She was a lovely lady to know and will be missed. My condolences to the family. Ann Schnaedter

This is the way I remeber her. We all had such good times gowing up. I will be thinking of all of you and keeping you in my prayers this week, knowing you've lost your mother, but that you will all be there together.

I am sorry for your loss. I did not know Mrs. Hodgon. She was such an attractive woman. I lost my precious Mother to a 14 year battle with alzheimre's. It wamned my heart to see responses on legacy whhen she passed. In my opinion there is no such bond or love as a Mother and son.
