Bessie APPERSON Obituary

JAMES CITY - Bessie V. Apperson, 98, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, peacefully at home. She was a native of James City and a lifelong resident of the county.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Apperson; her brother, Arthur A. Martin.
She is survived by her three sons, William L. Apperson (Mary), Charles E. Apperson (Pat) and Richard E. Apperson (Donna); seven grandchildren, Christine E. Apperson (Freddie), William G. Apperson (Cherie), C. Michael Apperson, Melissa A. Ayers (Rob), Ronald P. Apperson, Allison J. Apperson and Thomas B. Apperson; three great-grandchildren, Joshua E. Apperson, Charlotte L. Apperson and William J. Apperson.
Special thank you to Christine, Freddie and Marlon for their continued loving care and nursing to Bessie.
A celebration of Bessie's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb.16, 2012, at Olive Branch Christian Church. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park.
In lieu of lowers, Donations may be made, in Bessie's memory, to the James City Bruton Volunteer Fire Department, 3135 Forge Road Toano, VA 23168.

I have such fond memories of Aunt Bessie and the house on Mill Rd. The first time I ever had raw cow's milk she had to put Hershey's Chocolate Syrup in it for me :) She was a good friend and sister-in-law to my grandmother Alice. Many blessings to the family.
