Robert JARONCZYK Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Robert John "Bob" Jaronczyk, age 63, of Williamsburg, passed away on Oct. 9, 2010, at his home.
He was born on July 18, 1947, to Henry and the late Lillian Jaronczyk, in Portsmouth, Va.
He is survived by his father, Henry; his wife of 29 years, Ellen; sons, Morgan Hobbs (Lesley) of Fredericksburg, Va., and Forrest Hobbs (Kara) of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Sharon Jaronczyk of Virginia Beach, and Patricia Rose (Buddy) of Decatur, Ala.; and grandchildren, Alexandra, Blake, Andrew and Matthew.
Bob graduated from Maury High School and East Carolina University. He was an outstanding teacher and coach at Churchland High School in Portsmouth until 1979. He positively influenced the lives of many young people, both in the classroom and on the field. Bob recently retired from Jostens as Director of Sales of the Ring Division. He was honored with the prestigious Legends Award, for his 28 years of exemplary service to the company.
As a young boy, everyday Bob attended the Colonial Boys Club in Norfolk, where he acquired skills and values that he used throughout his life. During his high school and college years, Bob played multiple sports and attended college on an athletic scholarship. Later in life, he was an avid golfer and found great joy playing the game whenever possible. He was immensely proud to have made six holes-in-one.
Bob will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his dedication to his work and his loyalty to his friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. Bob had a kind and gentle spirit and a heart almost as big as the man himself.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, at www.bgca.org.

Bob led by example as both a coach and manager. He exemplified "servant leadership" which all successful leaders embellish. He and Ellen lived a beautiful life and set an example for all married couples to follow. Our three plus decades at Jostens featured a finely tuned management team both innovative and customer focused. Bob's contributions and memories will always be cherished by his family and friends.

My condolences.
Bobby seemed to like the story I told him at our last Maury reunion.
I was equipment manager for Bacalis's basketball team 1962-1963. We were playing Newport News and they were rough. A fight broke out amongst the players on the court. I was near Bobby as he came off the bench in a football blocking mode and he piled right into the middle of the Newport News players. When he returned he was grinning from ear to ear like a chesire cat. He was one happy guy.
p.s. the attached picture was from the Maury reunion 5 years ago.

He was a wonderful man and will be missed by so many here at Jostens.

I'll never forget the year he gave Kelly & I tickets to the Coke-Cola 600 in Charlotte. He couldn't believe two Minnesota ladies were such big NASCAR fans. He was one of kind...
