Ashley BLUNT Obituary
Ashley was born on June 26, 1922, he was a native of Sedley, Va., and resided in Hampton, Va. He attended Huntington High School, served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the Newport News Public School System in 1987.
Ashley was the son of the late Curtis and Rena Blunt. Ashley was also preceded in death by three siblings, Curtis Jr., Nettie and Floyd.
Cherishing his memory are Rosa L. Blunt, his loving wife of 60 years; son, Ashley R. Blunt Jr.; grandchildren, Lindell L. Blunt and JaVonda D. Kelley; great-grandchildren, Ty Tiyana Blunt, Ja Keria Hargraves, Dominique J. Kelley and Kiara C. Kelley; niece, Lynette Pender. He is also survived by many extended family members, friends and a special caregiver.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Christian Union Church, 3206 Chestnut Avenue, Newport News, Va. Burial will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

To the Blunt family, I'n sorry that I am unable to attend because I am still in Kuwait but my heart is their with you. Mr. Blunt was a man in the neighborhood that everyone liked and could talk to. I will truly miss joking with him everytime I come home for R&R from the middle east.
