Samuel JONES Obituary
He was a longtime resident of Hampton, Va., but recently moved to Newport News. He attended George Washington Carver High School. Mr. Jones was a self employed painter contractor for many years. He was the oldest son of Samuel W. Jones Sr. and Willie Mae Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tyrone Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Rodney L. Jones, Tyrone "Ricky" Jones, Natasha Purdie, Monica Purdie and Erica Houser; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 1 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service on Friday. O. H.
