Joseph BARTRON Obituary
He was an employee of Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, as a sheet metal specialist, for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Bartron.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Sonya Bartron; daughter, Cierra A. Bartron; son, Joseph C. Bartron Jr.; brothers, James Michael Bartron and wife, Shelby, and George Steven Bartron, all of Newport News; several loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at Peninsula Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Hunt of Liberty Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Sonya, I just heard about Joe. I am heart broken for you and the kids. I am so sorry that you have to go through this. Please know you and your family our in my thoughts and prayers. You are an amazing person and Joe and Cierra are lucky to have you to help them through this difficult time. Although I never had the pleasure to meet him, I heard many stories from you at work. Theres not a day that goes by that Mike and I don't think about Joe. He was a great brother, husband and father and he will be forever in our hearts. Sonya, Joe and Cierra we will always be here for you. God bless you.

My friend in childhood, my friend in life. I was always taught that the attitude you give is the attitude you get and everyone loved Joe. My condolences to his family . Know that although I only saw him in the shipyard, every time we talked he talked about his family with so much heart ! We kinda drifted apart due to time, but we still were the Newmarket boys ! He was one hell of a football player then too !

Sonya, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this in the paper. I can't imagine what happened to take Joe at such a young age. Words can't express how sorry I am that you and the twins have lost Joe. I pray that God holds you all close and brings you peace in the coming weeks.
