Absence of Dr.Pirzadeh is absolutely tangible. He loved his country and he was a real patriot. He loved his family so much. He was a smart scientist. He was nice and sincere. He lived with honor. That’s why we miss him so much and we will never forget him.

I met Shahyar only once in person about a month ago, despite a number of emails last year. He seemed very nice-and was about the same age and height as myself-and in similar areas of expertise. My hope is that his family and friends will handle things well-and that Shahyar will be blessed in the life beyond.

Soheila, Nima, & Minu - It goes without saying that our lives have been closely intertwined for the past 20 years. Shahyar is one of those few individuals that has profoundly impacted this world through his quiet and steady spirit. I have never known anyone quite like him. In his work, he was brilliant, a true game changer. But having seen and talked with him almost every work day for the past 20 years, I can tell you that his true heart was somewhere else. He loved his wife, his son, and his daughter, and especially his grand children. When he talked about them he radiated joy. He had told me several times that he wished he could wind down his work so he could spend more time with you. Shahyar was more to me than a close co-worker. He was a dear friend that I have grown to love very much. Joyce and I have especially enjoyed our times together with you outside of work. We want you to know that we feel and share this loss with you, and offer our deepest thoughts and prayers. We'll see you soon.

It was a true privilege to be Shahyar's office mate after hiring on with NASA. He was a great researcher and an extremely hard worker. We shared an interest and a respect for the many difficult aspects of geometry that pervade CFD and grid generation, and had some great discussions over the years. I will miss those interactions, but continue to benefit from them.
Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Soheila, Minu and Nima, I still can't believe that this world is without Shahyar - it won't be same. A dear friend of over 20 years, a co-worker and a passionate man, Shahyar will be missed by all who have ever come in contact with him, even once. It is not only a great loss for all friends and family, but an irreplaceable loss for the engineering field of which we all were a part. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. And please let us know if we can do anything for your family.

Dear Pirzadeh Family,
It is with great sadness that I hear of Shahyar's untimely death. Let me
offer my heartfelt condolences. I had the honour to work with Shahyar
in the early days of the VGRID code, and I have kept up with all his
many contributions over the years. In a world were many talk too much
without doing, he was doing much without talking or boasting. In our
small community of grid generators, he will always be remembered
for his contributions.
We will pray for him at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC
next Saturday during a thanksgiving mass.
Again, my heartfelt condolences.

I extend my deepest and most loving condolences to Soheila, the children, and the grandchildren. It is difficult to find the right words to express what a shock it was to hear the devastating news about Shahyar. He was a very wonderful person and loved his family, his friends, and life very much! The world has lost a gentleman; I have lost my dearest friend, 'My brother'. Thank you, Shahyar, for sharing your love and sweet spirit with all of us! You are sorely missed and will always be remembered with great love and the very highest esteem.

Dad,
Something I should have called and never did. I'm sorry that I never gave you that respect. You did feel very much to me as a Dad. Some times I couldn't believe that you were my Father in law. You were such a smart and organized man and I have learned so much from you. We were all privileged and blessed to have you in our lives. It always amazed me how focused and dedicated you were, not only to the ones you loved, but when it came to anything and everything you did. There was never a decision that you made unless it was thought through 110 percent. You loved your Grand children so much. Gabriel especially loved you more then anyone could ever know. He loved it when you would cut his hair, even the times when he would say "but Grandpa you just cut my hair", he still loved it. I feel, and I tell Minu this, even though your hurt is not for words, that you have left us just for a short while, but just like everything else in the world nothing goes away for ever. It comes back eventually. The sun rises and sets, but rises again in the morning. I will see you again one day, until then please watch over your family, we all love and miss you and can't wait to see you again.

"Don't think of Him as gone away, his journey's just begun. Life holds so many facets, this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting, from the sorrows and the tears, in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days or years. Think how he must be wishing that you could know today, how nothing but your sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched...for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much."
Minu I'm so sorry for your loss; you & your family are in our prayers.

I express my condolences to Shahyar’s precious family. In all the years I have known him, his consistent love, devotion, and loyalty to family and friends never ceased to impress me. Shahyar is a wonderful individual who will always be remembered and loved. I feel so fortunate that his path and mine crossed in this life. He was quick to tell you that God continually blessed him, and I know that he is blessed today in the presence of God in Heaven’s eternal home. I pray that God’s grace continues to cover Shahyar's family and friends as we face this grievously difficult time. As my Grandmother always told me, we must remember that nothing ever touches us that God has not already filtered through His hands. May God’s countenance continue to shine upon each who love and respect Shahyar.
