Ellen Kaye Otey

Anyone who knew Nanny loved her. She could put a smile on your heart everytime you saw her. Her family is devastated by her passing. She was such a strong willed person in such a petite body. It is hard to imagine she is gone and we won't see her smiling face anymore. Nanny had a good life but endured a heartache noone should ever have to endure. She not only lost her loving husband but also lost her oldest child. As a mother I could never comprehend the pain she felt. We all loved Papa and Angela and miss them terribly, and now Nanny. We all (grandchildren and her great grandchildren) have been touched by Nanny's loving ways. We will cherish our many, many happy memories with her and keep them in our hearts forever. My deepest sympathy goes out to all the Otey family and extended loved ones. I know your hearts are truly broken and my heart feels very sad for all of you. There is nothing more sad than saying goodbye to someone who has touched so many lives for so long with love and laughter. Mrs. Otey was funny, fun-loving, always smiling with a kind word and a hug and kiss for everyone she knew. It did not matter if she had not seen you in years. She dearly loved all of her family and friends and spent much quality time with her children and grandchildren. She was everything a mother and grandmother should be. She will truly be missed and always loved by many. May God Bless your Soul Susie and May you dwell in his house and our hearts forever.
LOVE YOU ALWAYS
