A. OSBORNE Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - A. Fred Osborne, 90, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009 at Riverside Regional Medical Center.
A native of Spartanburg, S.C., he was a Peninsula resident for 70 years.
He retired as a payroll analyst from the Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co. in 1977, with 36 years of service. Mr. Osborne was an Air Force veteran of WW II, a member of Central Methodist Church, and loved golf, hunting and the Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 68 years, Margie N. Osborne; his son, James L. Osborne and his wife, Debra of Williamsburg; two grandchildren, Melissa Atchley and her husband, Greg of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Rusty Lemon and his wife, Holly of Leesburg, Ga.; and three great-grandchildren, Andy, Alex, and Austin Atchley.
A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Frank Earwood at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at Peninsula Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Diabetes Assoc., 6340 Center Drive, York Bldg., Suite #129, Norfolk, VA 23502.
