Albert DeCHRISTOPHER Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Albert Hatch "Chris" DeChristopher Sr., 77, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 at Sentara-Willliamsburg Hospital.
He was born in Providence, R.I., and had been a longtime Peninsula resident. He served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. His second career was the grounds Maintenance Manager at Anheuser Busch. He enjoyed spending time gardening, golfing and fishing.
Mr. DeChristopher was preceded in death by his mother and father, Earl and Lena DeChristopher; his daughter, Laura D. Huggett; his siblings, Barbara Sullivan, Claire Iacobucci, and Earl G. DeChristopher Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen DeChristopher; his children, Elizabeth D. Grieb and her husband, David, Albert H. DeChristopher Jr. and his wife, Edna, Holly E. Smith and her husband, Michael, and Carole M. McCullough and her husband, Kenneth; six siblings and their families; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 7, 2010, at Weymouth Funeral Home. A graveside service with, Military Honors, will follow at 2 p.m., at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058; the American Cancer Society, 11835 Canon Blvd., Suite A-102, Newport News, VA 23606; or to the Williamsburg SPCA.
