Allan CHILDERS Obituary

YORKTOWN - Allan Dafoe Childers Sr., 73, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010.
Allan was a native of Gaffney, S.C., and was a Peninsula resident since 1976. Allan retired from the USAF as a MSGT with 22 years of faithful service to his country.
Allan is survived by his wife Joyce; two sons, Allan D. Childers Jr., and Phillip B. Childers, both of Yorktown; a daughter, Barbara Clark and her husband, Bill of Gloucester; a sister, Martha Mendez of South Carolina; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lynn Childers.
A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday, June 8, 2010, in the chapel of Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be held in Parklawn Memorial Park.
