Allene Privett Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Beautiful smile
Allene Florence Privett, 77, formerly of Annandale, Va., went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009.
She spent most of her adult years working for J.C. Penney and was a devoted Penney's shopper. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease six years ago, she has lived with her son and his family here in Williamsburg until a stroke took away her ability to walk. She has lived the last six months of her life at Patriots Colony.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Riley; her daughter, Susan Thompson; her father and mother, John and Jessie Goforth; her sister, Marie Lawhorn.
She leaves behind her son, Michael and his wife, Sheri of Williamsburg; her daughter, Linda Mattera, and husband, Tony, of Land O' Lakes, Fla.; her daughter, Betty Herz of Lutz, Fla.; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Allene's life will be held at the Faith Baptist Church, 4107 Rochambeau Drive, in Williamsburg on Monday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m. A viewing will precede the service at 9 a.m.
Interment will be in National Memorial Park in Falls Church at approximately 3 p.m.
Friends are encouraged to visit www.parklawn-woodfh.com to share memories and words of condolence with the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice House of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
