Andrew Dawkins Obituary
"Andy" was born June 15, 1970, to Peggy Dawkins and the late Andrew Edwards Dawkins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Charity Dabney, and Morgan H. and Ora E. Dawkins; and his cousin, Richard "Ricky" Owens.
He is survived by his mother, Peggy Dawkins; stepmother, Willye Dawkins-Baker (Marvin); sisters, Carolyn L. Jones (James) and Toni A. Martin (Darnell); Brother, Ernest L. White Jr.; a special aunt, Julie Dabney Fox; aunt, Audrey Haynes; devoted cousins, Edward R. Fox, Sherry Dabney and Anthony Hilliard; uncles, Harold Dabney and Harvey Dawkins (Evelyn); and a host of other family and friends.
Viewing will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th Street, NN,VA 23607. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. I send My Condolences to the family of Andy. I remember Andy back in Warwick High, always smiling, and we going back and forth snapping on each other. If anybody try to get in we would get on them. This is to the Dawkins family expecially Andrew's Mom Peggy, and his Cousin Ricky.
My name is Dion Delk and "Andy" and I were good friends while attending Booker T. Washington Middle School. We lost contact with each other mostly due to going to different High Schools, but Andy was "My Boi" and I always kept up with him either by passing by or through friends.
My prayers go out to all of you, because I knew Andy, and he was always one to have a good story, and ALWAYS could make you laugh.
Please take care of yourselves, and be there for one another in this time, because the one thing i remember most about Andy was his love for his Mother and is 'Lil Cuz Ricky".
