My deepest sympathies from our family to yours. My Father is John P. Gurganus Jr., Mrs. Gurganus' late husband oldest son. I met Mrs. Gurganus only once when I was very little but I remember it vividly. I remember my Grandfather and her welcoming us in for visit just days before my Grandfather passed. I remember her as a very friendly woman. From the previous posts I can see she is a very loved woman. May the Lord give you strength in this very difficult time and may he also wrapped his ever loving arms around each and every one of you who loved her so dearly and give you comfort.
Again our deepest sympathy.

Even though it saddens me a great deal to see Mrs Gurganus has passed I cant help but to smile thinking of memories spent with her and the family for 43 yrs.She was one tough broad as my mother would say but at the same time kind and allways big hearted. From the all night backyard pig roast to keeping all of us in line she remained calm but strong.I have allways had the upmost respect for her as they truely dont make them like her anymore. To all her children you each have a little of your mom in you so carry on the gurganus family tradiction and stay strong because you know as well as I do she is watching you still.Lots of love you greeksters.
