NEWPORT NEWS - Barbara Ann McCleney, 76, of Sanford, NC, went home to be with Our Lord on December 24th, 2013. Born March 17th, 1937, Mrs. McCleney was a longtime devoted servant to the Lord and Liberty Baptist church. She was a member of the Red Hatters and Church Choir. She will be remembered most for her selfless love and devotion to her faith, family, friends and acquaintances. She possessed the uncanny ability to recognize and bring out the best in everyone she touched throughout her life. She has left an eternal void that can never be filled. She was the ROCK that always stood strong and the GLUE that held our family together. She will be eternally loved and missed and never forgotten. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Luther and Nannie Oldham, son Randy L. McCleney, Sister Mannon Cameron, brother-in-law Nath Cameron, brother Pat Oldham, nephews Donnie Cameron and Michael Oldham. Left to cherish her memory forever are her husband of 61 years, Robert F. McCleney; daughter Vickie M. Gray and her husband Michael Gray; son Robert Brian McCleney; sister Sandra Bibey; five grandchildren, Pamela White, Erin McDonald, Amanda McCleney, Brianna McCleney and Aiden Nettleton:two great-grandchildren, Liam White and Randy McCleney. The family will receive friends from 11 to 12:30 on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral home. Funeral services officiated by Pastor Joe Hunt will follow the visitation at the funeral home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton, VA.23666.
