Betty HOGG Obituary
Born Aug. 9, 1934, in Elizabeth City County, Betty was a native of Phoebus and life long resident of Hampton. She retired after 18 years from J.C. Penny and New Market. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 48.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory the following family members, daughter, Sharon L. O'Keefe and husband, Robert; son, Johnny Hogg; grandsons, Rob O'Keefe and Heather Boyko, Shawn O'Keefe and Joseph Hogg; granddaughters, Miranda Hogg, Samantha Hogg, Brittany Hogg, Stacy Bierbauer and Katie Hogg; great-grandsons, Michael, Mark and Christopher O'Keefe; brother, Edward Herb; and nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in downtown Hampton. A Christian celebration of life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to gather after the services at the American Legion Phoebus Post 48, 221 SE. Melon St.

Hello, my Mother & Father were friends with your Mother & Father. I knew your parents from going to Bingo. It's so sad to lose our parents. I lost my Mom in 2000 and my dad in 1985. My Dad's name was C.R. & my Mother's name was Elsie and our last name is Onks. I am sorry to see that your Mother & Father have passed. May the happy memories you had with them get you through this trying time. Take Care!

To the Betty Hogg family, my sincere sympathies in the loss of your family member. I did not know Mrs. Hogg but haved taught some of her grandchildren, katie, Adam, & Stacy at Hampton Christian. For many years Betty has been our dear friend and co-worker at Newmarket J.C. Penney's. She was a wonderful example of detication and loyalty to her family and a blessing to know.
