I was so supprised when Ruth called and told me that Billy had passed away. Billy was about a month older than me. I remember Billy when he and I lived in Middleton. He would come by on Sunday and pick us up for Church at First Baptist Church in Middleton where we both went to Church. I remember calling Billy before our class reunion to inform him of it. He was so supprised to hear from me. My thoughts and prayers ar with you.

I called him "Paw" because he was more than a father-in-law, he was an extended DAD. I will miss him dearly. Billy was a kind man who would give you the shirt off his back, he never met a stranger, and just had a very kind spirit about him. I really appreciate the 27 years we spent together and I could never have imagined all of the things that he would have taught me. I will always remember the many pieces of woodwork we made together, the automotive things he taught me to do, and of course the countless hunting, fishing, and western shows we watched. Don't worry PAW, I will do my best to take care of Becky and Millie to the best of my abilities, just the same as you would have done. Most of all, thank you for Becky, without her I would not be who I am today, she changed my life. I love and miss you a lot. From your extended son.

Billy:
I remember living in Middleton TN and being in the RA's with you at First Baptist Church. We went to RA Camp in North Carolina one year and we had a lot of fun. I wish your family the peace that comes with knowing that you are in a better place than this Earth, and my condolences go out the all your family. May God Bless and Comfort them.

It's been a good while since I've seen him but my memories of Billy are many, and they are all good. How could they be otherwise? He was a great man, a man up for any challenge and one whose patience was only exceeded by his resourcefulness. He was a loving man and he spread that love around, even to cousins that he saw only once a decade. That’s his legacy; he may be gone but his love remains.

“Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers.
I am the calm that follows a raging storm.
I am an autumn’s leaf that floats
among the garden of God, and I am pure
white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.”

I couldn't believe it when I heard. This is a man who could do anything! From telling me how to fix the car, to making me stay for dinner that he made when I came to see Rob,to building furniture that I still get compliments on. This is a man that I have great respect for and I am glad to have known him. Rob, Dale, and family, I am so sorry for your loss but you were all lucky to have shared in his life. Mr. Hall I'll never forget the butter rolls!
