Bobby WEST Obituary

HAYES - Bobby Ray West, 60, died peacefully at his home Dec. 30, 2009.
Bobby was a native of Gloucester, graduating in 1968 from Gloucester High School. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Bobby was a waterman, having worked on the local waters, crabbing and fishing since he was a young man. Bobby was big in statue, but he was gentle, loving and extremely kind. He was a devoted husband and loving father. Bobby's generosity and kind heart were an inspiration to all who knew him.
His parents, Linwood and Edith West; sisters, Cheryl and Marie West; and brother, Hansford West, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Haynes West; daughters, Stephanie West, and Stacey West; brother, James R. West and wife, Goldie; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Richard Croxton and the Rev. W. Donald Ambrose, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Providence Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
