Carlton Young Obituary
Mr. Young lived in Newport News for most of his life, until he moved to Monroe, N.C., in 2002. He was a member of Gloucester Church of Christ in Hayes and Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Monroe, N.C. He retired as a welder with Boilermakers Local 45.
Survivors include three sons, Carlton Bruce Young Jr. of Como, N.C., Gerald B. Young Sr. of Newport News, and Timothy W. Young of Monroe, N.C.; a grandson, Gerald B. Young and nine additional grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, in Peninsula Memorial Park.
