Carrie Lowe Obituary

ELBERON - Carrie Henry Lowe, 77, of Elberon, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009.
Born on April 14, 1932 in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late George Roger and Carrie Estelle Powell Henry.
She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, and an avid card and Yahtzee player. She and her husband opened their hearts and home to young children in need over the years. Her care and love will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, B. Winston Lowe; two daughters, Shelle F. Switzer of Elberon, Georgette M. Wells of Smithfield; a son, James "Buddy" Smith of Lynchburg; a brother, William Roger Henry of New Bern, NC; three grandchildren, Jeffrey "Logan" Causby, Charles "Landon" Wells, Jenna Leigh Wells.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at Rocky Hock United Methodist Church in Wakefield. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Surry Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 188, Surry, VA 23883.
