HAMPTON - Celestine Hudgins Payne 85, entered into internal life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at her residence. Celestine endured her illness with grace and dignity and continued faith in the Lord. Mrs. Payne was born in Warwick County, VA. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Morrison where she was baptized and started her walk with God many years ago. She was a member of the Deaconess Board, Pastor's Aid, Missionary Board, and Sunday School. She retired from Hidenwood Pharmacy with over 41 years of dedicated service. She is survived by her husband Samuel G. Payne Sr.; two sons; Alexander Hudgins [Vernice] of Suffolk and Dwight Timothy Hudgins [Sheila] of Hampton; one daughter; Phyllis Hudgins-Turner [George] of Hampton, one step-daughter Sandra Payne of Newport News, one sister Gloria Elaine Taylor of Newport News, 8 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday February 1, 2014, at 12:00 Noon at First Baptist Church Morrison located at 12720 Patrick Henry Dr in Newport News, VA with the Rev. Dr. Marcellus Lee Harris Jr. officiating. The viewing will be from 12 to 6pm on Friday January 31 at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home located at 251 W. Queen St. in Hampton. She will be in state Saturday at First Baptist Church Morrison from 10:00 AM until hour of service.
